The Down Low: Educating and Empowering Women About Sexual Health

For decades, GPs have prescribed ‘The Pill’ as the default contraceptive to young women. But there are over 10 contraceptive options out there, and women deserve to know all of their options, so they can make educated decisions about their body and health.

That’s what The Down Low is all about. A collaboration between Organon and Paper + Spark, The Down Low is all about destigmatising conversations about sexual health, educating and empowering women to be aware of their contraceptive options and helping them have informed conversations with their GPs.

In 2023, the awareness campaign achieved:

  • 27.5% engagement rate
  • 85% month-on-month follower growth
  • 39% video play throughs
  • Survey results indicating that 50% of the audience were more likely to have an empowered discussion with a GP after seeing The Down Low content
  • 40% increase in media share of voice around contraception
  • 15% increase in client-owned scripts.
